KRC is in search of a Lead Maintenance Technician for El Cajon, CA on second shift (3:00 pm to 11:30 pm).


Candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks associated with servicing, repairing or operation of CNC machine tools, facilities maintenance and repairing/maintaining other types of machines. The lead will coordinate and work with other maintenance technicians to analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical/ electrical problems. The lead will work closely with the customer, KRC personnel and outside vendors. The lead will manage the work orders and assign to available maintenance technicians to ensure that the repair/work order is completed in a timely manner.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Troubleshoot and work with the KRC staff to ensure the completion of repair of major machine tool problems.
  • Organize, tag and mark components for future assembly.
  • Identify, repair or replace damaged components.
  • Report activities and expenses timely and accurately
  • Train other employees for advancement.
  • Keep work area neat, clean and organized.
  • Provide support to the second shift staff.
  • Supervise the staff on second shift when it comes to completing work orders and assigning responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

INSTRUCTIONS, METHODS AND PROCEDURES USED:

Work assignment via dispatched Work Orders. Most technical instruction will come from fellow Equipment Repair technicians, Equipment Repair Leads or OEM support personnel, OEM Maintenance Manuals or Training class documentation.

RELATIONS TO OTHERS:

Customer relations – Production Management and operators.

OEM relations – Management, maintenance support, parts personnel.

KRC relations – Maintenance Management, purchasing support, internal Administration, Equipment Repair Leads, Other Equipment Repair Technicians, Preventative Maintenance and assembly technicians.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB:

  • Machine tool knowledge and terminology is a plus!
  • 3 or more years of experience in machine tool field service is a plus!
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a lead, supervisory or management role.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
  • Understanding of multiple machine tool specifications and have knowledge of test equipment.
  • Mechanical hand tools and tool box.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and some power tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting abilities.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires minimum one-year mechanical background with CNC equipment repair noted above. Must be willing to work in a repetitive production environment with concern for meeting cost, quality and schedule requirements. The ability to work as a team player as well as independently is required.
