Hourly Range: $21.17/hour-$25.62/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate therapeutic mental health services to patients by managing the activities
• Understands and ensures that individual treatment plans are followed, including the mental emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects.
• Provides a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for patients.
• Assists with staff training.
• Demonstrates leadership to staff through effective communication.
• Conducts staff meetings as needed.
• Assists with tracking training requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of policy, procedure and program changes.
• Conducts performance appraisals as required.
• Ensures staff/patient ratios are appropriate for all shifts and monitors attendance approval/disapproval as needed.
• Assists and supports department leadership.
• Assists with plans, management, and processes to carry out ACU treatment services in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.
• Provide support services to patients and their families in the milieu environment, including traditional services such as sweat lodge.
• Provides consultation to Mental Health Technicians to ensure optimal care is delivered to patients and their families by assisting and guiding staff in understanding the appropriate level of care needed.
• Provides support to Mental Health Technician staff in understanding the mental/behavioral health diagnosis, health maintenance, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, and the prevention of illness.
• Participates in treatment team meetings and other meetings relevant to the patients’ care.
• Assists with monitoring the documentation of all patient care and services provided in the medical record per FDIHB and departmental policy.
• Assists Mental Health Supervisor with training Mental Health Technician staff in providing treatment services that are ethical, respectful, and sensitive to ACU patients, families, and staff.
• Performs Mental Health Technician duties at times and other activities as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience:

Two (2) year experience with adolescents in an in-patient, residential type treatment facility, healthcare or learning institution setting.

• Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Biological Sciences and/or nursing related field.

• Certificate:

Obtain valid American Heart Association (AHA) in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention within six (6) months from date of hire and maintain certification
