This position will be located in the Chapel Hill Unit Office. This position reports to the Unit Manager or designee & works directly with the unit manager and the support staff and is considered part of the management team for the unit. This position provides day to day supervision of the support staff to ensure the needs of the counseling staff and clients are met. The position engages and works directly with internal and external customers to include clients, medical professionals, employers, Community Rehab Programs, other agencies and vendors to coordinate and monitor services for clients. Support for unit manager, Counselor in Charge, supervision of clerical staff within the unit, and perform duties which include but not limited to maintaining and processing records for all personnel

Job responsibilities include the following:
  • Knowledge of appropriate HR procedure for selecting and developing employees to retain a diverse workforce
  • Compile and process monthly reports as well as general training for new staff
  • Correspond with state HR with reference to personnel issues
  • Maintenance and supplies for all office equipment and general work supplies
  • Maintenance and management of property, contracts, and agreements related to workspace, and mail distribution
  • Requires a wide range of knowledge regarding the agency, its policy and procedures, the community, and its resources, and the ability to verbalize this information effectively and appropriately
  • Must be able to positively resolve issues independently as well as working with management to achieve positive results
  • Ability to instruct and train employees by providing information, including appropriate procedures and practices

Management Preferences (if applicable)
  • Previous human service experience preferred
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
