Job description

1. Provides supervision utilizing evidence-based techniques related to the practice of behavioral health counseling;

2. Serves as a resource person for other professionals counseling or providing direct services to clients with behavioral health disorders;

3. Attends and participates in treatment planning activities and discharge planning;

4. Functions as client advocate in treatment decisions;

5. Ensures BHSP adheres to rules and regulations regarding all behavioral health treatment, such as group size, caseload and referrals; and

6. Assists the Medical Director with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

7. Contribute, draft, and approve the service agreement updates for review and, in conjunction with the clinical managing team.

8. The LMHP may assume the role of a community support worker Community Support is primarily a face to face service and is primarily provided in the home or other community setting

9. Contribute to the development of the client’s crisis contingency plan.

10. Contribute to the development of measurable goals, objectives, and strategies in the MHS service agreement which can be achieved within the timeframes stated in the service agreement.

11. Consult with identified providers, include their input into the service process, communicate and coordinate all involved stakeholders, and monitor the status of the client in relation to the treatment goals.

12. The LMHP assumes the roles of advocate, broker, coordinator, and monitor of the service delivery system on behalf of the client.

13. The LMHP may also provide group (must have a minimum of one year documented experience providing services in a group setting), individual, or family counseling as needed by clientele.

14. The LMHP may also provide psychosocial skills training, a therapeutic, rehabilitative, skill-building service for children and adolescents to increase and maintain competence in normal life activities and gain the skills necessary to allow them to remain in or return to their community.

15. Contacting and negotiating with all other systems serving the MHS client to ensure a single clinical plan for the client.

16. Engaging in collateral consultation with other individuals (family members, significant others, and professionals) who are actively involved in the client’s care.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour

Education:

  • Master's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Behavioral health: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Professional Social worker or counselor's license (Preferred)
