Life Navigators support our clients in Northern York, Cumberland, and Sagadahoc counties. This position will help youth/young adults with barriers to employment, low-income adults, and long-term unemployed.

As a Life Navigator, you will provide comprehensive support and guidance to individuals on their journey toward meaningful and sustainable employment, playing a crucial role in breaking down barriers, offering personalized assistance, and creating pathways to success for our clients.

Job Summary:

  • Builds and maintains an in-depth professional relationship with the customer by assisting in developing and carrying out a personal plan to address life barriers; makes appropriate referrals to social service providers; continues supporting the customer post-employment until the job is sustainable and the customer has built a system of natural supports.
    • Interviews customer to collect information and observes their support system using intake data.
    • Builds and maintains partnerships with lead service providers in the community to make needed referrals for the customer.
    • Counsels customers in overcoming life barriers; assist them in finding and utilizing resources to overcome identified barriers.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate customer personal plans, progress summaries, progress notes, and other documentation as needed.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Social Work, Psychology, or related social services field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Must be able to travel as required to worksites, training locations, partner agencies, and client access points.
  • A criminal background check that meets Agency standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LCSW, LCPC, LADC, LMSW, or related certification/license.
  • 4+ years of experience in a related field
  • Experience supporting clients with barriers to employment
