Job Description
Position Title: Cook
Overview of Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for preparing and cooking food based on orders from our guests.
Kitchen:
- Provides exemplary guest service by demonstrating a personal commitment to making every guest satisfied.
- Understands and promotes the company’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
- Provides information to guests about hotel services and amenities.
- Understands and complies with recipes, portion sizes, cooking methods and kitchen policies and procedures.
- Prepares a variety of food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
- Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and determine that it is cooked.
- Ensures that all equipment and kitchen area is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
- Assists with complying to all local, state, and franchise required training and health compliance regulations.
- Understands and performs basic safety, security and emergency procedures of the hotel.
Communication, Collaboration and Culture:
- Continuously promotes, communicates, and embodies the RMC culture.
- Practices and encourages a positive attitude among teammates to stimulate enhanced communication and collaboration.
- Actively participates on teams and meetings to promote the improvement of operating strategies, guest satisfaction and financial results.
- Able and willing to assist teammates and take on additional assignments.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in kitchen operations and food preparation is preferred
- Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team-based environment
- Ability to perform and manage multiple tasks
- Planning and organizational skills
- Technical Skills preferred - Microsoft Word/ Excel/Outlook/ SharePoint and Hotel Brand Systems
Working Relationships:
- Works and collaborates with restaurant, kitchen and banquet teammates.
- Interacts with teammates within the hotel.
- Reports to Food and Beverage Manager and/or the Executive Chef.
