Job description
OBIX, a perinatal solution company, requires an organized Logistics Assistant to join our supply chain team. In this role, you will process orders and oversee cycle of order fulfilment. Responsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the deliver and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.
What you will be doing:
- Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another.
- Arrange transportation and deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
- Receives products and coordinates delivery
- Prepares loads for shipment
- Takes steps to avoid quality control issues
- Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to assure deadlines are met
- Organizes and manages inventory, storage, and transportation.
- Reviews, prepares, and routes purchase orders.
- Monitors shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity to keep cost down where possible.
- Addresses and resolves shipment and inventory issues.
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Maintains shipping material stock and related items.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of a high school education and 2-5 year of Logistics experience
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- Working knowledge of legal regulations and ISO requirements
- Proficient computer skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.
- Experience with UPS World Ship
- Experience with FEDEX
- Experience with international shipping
- Good planning abilities
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary to meet commitments.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must arrive at workplace dependably and on time
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lb. and must be capable of hearing audible alarms emitted by the CCSI system.
