General Description: (Job Summary) Assist in the provision of primary and comprehensive health care by providing nursing care under the supervision of a physician.

Education, Training and Experience (Qualifications): Graduate of an approved program of practical nursing and current PA L.P.N. required; appropriate patient care experience desirable. Clinical and Nursing skills, infection control, medication administration, health promotion and maintenance. Current CPR and AED certified. Knowledge of patient/health evaluation, examination and assessment, histories, nutrition, lifespan development, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, specimen collection; treatments, care, and procedures performed in clinic, data collection, documentation, EMR, patient education, etc.

Clinical and Nursing skills.

Assist physician, physician assistant or registered nurse as required; prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs and assist in minor surgeries and in emergencies; provide basic wound care.

• Assess patients’ mental health and reaction to medications.
• Perform nursing procedures for which L.P.N. training has provided the necessary degree of skill and judgement such as:
• Administration of medications including injections and immunizations and treatments prescribed.
• Preparation and care of patients receiving specialized treatments including but not limited to ultrasound, EKG tracings, drawing blood, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, performing laboratory procedures done at the center, etc.
• Timely record nursing care given, pertinent observations and treatments administered.
• May be responsible for generating data needed for financial and statistical records; schedule appointments.
• Function within the guidelines for practice both clinically and administratively as established by RHC protocol.
• Provide emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients; assist with rehabilitation of patients when possible.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge via workshops, webinars, professional publications, etc.
• Perform other duties within capabilities as assigned by supervisor or executive staff.
• Adhere to all personnel policies in the conduct of personal and employment matters.
