Description:Machine, fabricate, or assemble parts to print and operation sheet specifications using conventional, CNC, and sheet metal machines and hand tools, including riveters, fasteners, setters, presses, spot welders, grinders, Helicoil installation tools, etc.

Perform secondary operations during the machine cycle.

Deburr parts using standard deburring tools.

Uses various hand tools such as files, hammers, wrenches, etc.

Inspects parts as they are produced using standard gages, micrometers, indicators, vernier calipers, depth gages, and other measuring devices, to ensure conformity to specifications.

Reports and tags out-of-tolerance parts and machining problems to the supervisor, so machines can be adjusted accordingly.

Reports defective parts to determine acceptability to customers.

Inspects cutting tools for wear to ensure the quality of parts, reports worn tools to a supervisor or set up person, and makes adjustments during production run as required to maintain quality parts and to keep the machine running.

Reports machine problems to the supervisor to keep the machine running.

Perform minor preventive maintenance to equipment. Keep machine and immediate work area clean, neat, and organized.

Mixes cutting fluids and maintains coolant levels to ensure a steady supply of coolant/cutting fluids to the machine.

Must have a thorough understanding of the correct procedures to follow and precautions to take when performing his/her work in order to prevent damage to the equipment and/or material or injury to himself/herself and/or others.

Receives written and/or verbal instructions, interprets prints, sketches, etc.

Performs miscellaneous duties and works in other departments as assigned.

Cleans up machines, equipment, work area, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Able to read and interpret operation sheets and complex blueprints.

Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly, welding, or machining in a production environment.

Must differentiate between thread sizes and tell differences between course and fine threads, metric and standard threads

Use various types of measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, micrometers, functional gages, etc.

Strong Math Background

Mechanically inclined and a fast learner.

Understanding of the cutting properties of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Basic Machine Shop Technology training or related job experience.

Experienced in using hand tools for metal finishing.

Able to use the overhead hoist and pallet jacks and follow all safety procedures.

Able to work safely with cleaning chemicals and solvents.

Able to operate multiple machines and machine types concurrently

Able to work in a team-oriented environment

Able to work 2nd shift and work OT if necessary

This facility requires special access and therefore all candidates must be US Citizens.
Desired Skills:
Painting processes including powder and wet coat painting and marking

Chemical conversion processes such as aluminum chromate conversion

Spot Welding

Lift a 50-pound part
