What will you do?
You will work from process sheets, blueprints or other written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts manually or with a crane.
- Setup and operate manual lathes to process components.
- Install machine fixtures to assure safe operation of the machine.
- Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
- Check and inspect operation against predetermined tolerances.
- Adopt a learning and flexibility approach to expanding knowledge to Computer Numerical Control machines.
- Work in other areas or departments as assigned.
- Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
Key Competencies:
- At least one year of experience setting up and running manual lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints, including standard dimensioning practices, tolerances, etc.
- Ability to determine the correct measuring tool and implement its use
- Must be proficient with micrometers, calipers, and a tape measure
- Must be able to communicate professionally with machinists, supervisors, and managers
- Requires strong math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals. Must also be able to convert fractions to decimals.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English
- Must be able to consistently stand for an entire shift
- Ability to work in a team setting
