General Purpose:

The maintenance associate provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and is responsible for keeping the interior and exterior of the store clean, safe and attractive.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Reports To: Store Manager, Assistant Manager

Job Description:

• Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service
• Greet customers and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams
• Remove and put away carts found in parking lot
• Take care of spills and put up wet floor signs when necessary
• Sweep & mop floors as necessary and document activities in sweep log
• Help customers lift heavy items into their cars
• Change all garbage as needed
• Report to assistant managers for any additional task
• Sweep exterior walk ways
• Shoveling, sanding & salting walkways; general property maintenance
• Maintain general landscaping around the building
• Maintain clean bathrooms at all times
• If assigned, clean floors with the scrubber
• If assigned, drive and deliver

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Push 6-7 shopping carts at a time
• Climb ladders
• Haul equipment & garbage
• Work outside in all weather conditions to maintain storefront and parking lots
• Do the above in a reasonable amount of time

Mental/Reasoning Requirements:

• Look over areas of the store to determine what needs to be done
• Make a list of what needs to be done and prioritize
• Order cleaning supplies
• Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
