Job description
A Bearing Maintenance Technician completes the daily tasks that are associated with maintaining all chocks and bearings from both roll shops. Tasks included but not limited to troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing bearings and lubrication components.

- Maintain responsibilities from Bearing Maintenance Technician Level I:
- Ability to operate a chock washer
- Ability to run jib and overhead cranes
- Ability to use micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, and PI tape
- Ability to operate chock flipper
- Ability to identify the different type of chocks and locations
- Ability to understand the chock ID system
- Understand the build-up of the different chocks to corresponding rolls
- Maintain housekeeping in Area Of Responsibility(A.O.R)
- Willingness to work shifts or be called out for repairs
- Ability to read prints and interpret the correct tolerances to be set
- Ability to fill out inspection paperwork or computer entry into RMS
- Ability to understand and repair different types of lubrication systems(REBS, Morgoil)
- Ability to communicate with vendors for replacement parts
- Ability to create/manage a chock (PM) preventive maintenance program with specific tasks needed to keep the machinery operational.
- Ability to train other technicians
