Job description
JOBELIGIBLE FOR SIGN ON BONUS!Must be able to pass drug screen and background check. Must have a valid VA driver's license and provide a current DMV driving record. Hiring for 2 positions. Weekly review until filled.Performs manual work installing, repairing and maintaining streets, drainage ways and related facilities, sidewalks and catch basins, pouring and finishing concrete, operating a variety of equipment, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Streets Crew Supervisor.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Repairs and maintains streets; removes damaged sections of pavement; spreads asphalt and patches holes in street surfaces; removes loose materials from road surface holes.Prepares asphalt materials for resurfacing and patching.Digs trenches and ditches; cleans storm drains, catch basins, and manholes.Installs, maintains, and repairs drainage ways, catch basins, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, traffic signs, etc.Sets and removes concrete forms; pours and rubs concrete.Hand grades streets, ditches, and driveways.Operates light equipment such as loaders, dump trucks, rollers, mowers and a variety of landscaping and street maintenance equipment.Operates tamper, concrete saw, compacter, and similar equipment.Cleans and maintains inside the drum and the outside of concrete truck.Mows grass, edges sidewalks and curbs, weed eats, trims trees and shrubs; performs related landscaping duties in the maintenance of right of ways and alleys; cuts down or trims trees that may impose safety hazards.Assists with snow removal and ice control.

Possession of VDOT Flagger certification upon hire.Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
