Schedule: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; Monday – Friday

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Incumbents travel via service truck to any and all locations within the county where fluids, air, coolant, miscellaneous repairs and etc. are required for Kershaw County equipment.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Incumbents perform a variety of duties. The distinguishing characteristics of this classification include responsibility for performing road service repairs.
Incumbents work under general supervision. While workers require some supervision in most assignments, they are free to develop their own work sequences within established procedures, methods and policies, while answering to direct supervisor. Works under close direction of senior personnel in function area. They are generally subject to periodic supervisory checks.
LIST OF DUTIES
(This list of duties is intended to be representative of the duties performed in positions within this classification. It does not include all the duties that may be assigned).
Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of gasoline I diesel-powered equipment, generators, and vehicles such as replacing hoses and belts, blades and cutting edges, hydraulic lines, lights and bulbs, tires and etc. Maintains all fluid levels and lubricates all equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Requires the ability to operate equipment and machinery requiring monitoring conditions and making adjustments. Such as, vehicles/equipment, mechanic's tools, drill press, welder, forklift, power washer hydraulic press, battery tester, and steam cleaner.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Task may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, traffic hazards, and toxic/poisonous agents.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Task involve the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing fifty to one hundred pounds. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE STATEMENT
High school diploma or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires possession of a valid state driver's license.
May require possession of a commercial driver's license (A, B, or C with specific endorsements may be required).
Hazmat Endorsement required or ability to get the Hazmat. No felony convictions is required for Hazmat.
May require possession of one or more ASE certifications.
