What You'll Do:

• Use work orders and the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to determine work to be done

• Participate in the PM program on all equipment

• Read written documents, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

• Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools

• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions

• Adjust machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts

• Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machines

• Ensure operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations

• Align and maintain machine tools

• Participate in continuous improvement of all machines

• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation

• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machines

• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance

• Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area

What We're Looking For:

• Industrial maintenance experience required; composite panel wood products industry maintenance experience strongly preferred

• Experience maintaining a continuous press preferred but not required

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems

• Experience using PLC’s is an asset

• Experience of Mig and Stick welding

• Knowledge of basic industrial 3-phase electricity and devices is a plus

• Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent re-occurrence

• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

• Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment

• Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.

• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• The supply of personal tools as required (Specialty tools are provided by CalPlant)

• Responsible for auditing personal tools required by maintenance employees. (tool lists are required of all personal tools kept on site and must be provided to supervisor)

• Use basic and intermediate mathematical computations for problem solving

• Understanding and use of mechanical and electrical measuring and calculation skills

• Capability to look at the large picture

• Develop contingencies for problems that arise while understanding the consequences of the options

• Assist with troubleshooting and analyzing difficult machinery and process issues

• Root cause failure analysis procedures
