General Description

This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and providing backup support to production.

Specific Duties

• Perform daily and scheduled maintenance functions throughout the plant as required including, but not limited to plumbing and minor electrical repairs, welding of fixtures and equipment, making smalls parts on manual lathes and mills, painting, insulation and related general maintenance.
• Keep records of all such work performed and the requirements of each machine for future reference.
• Support production efforts to increase workstation performance and production efficiency in all areas by creating innovative fixtures and equipment enhancements.
• Perform as a backup operator on various items or production equipment.
• Follow instructions from the immediate supervisor.
• Wipe down any equipment used daily at the end of each shift.
• Keep work area clean and orderly. Remove all dirt and debris in and around the work area at the end of each shift, then sweep all adjacent floor areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a production environment preferred.
• Basic welding, plumbing, and electrical skills.
• General knowledge of mechanical parts.
• Must be able to work in a non-airconditioned environment for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing plant environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Experience

• Minimal 1-year experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Relevant similar experience will be considered

Preferred Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vo-tech or trade school diploma preferred.
