Hours: Monday - Friday Standard Business Hours
Location: Remote
In this newly created role, you will report to our General Counsel and will partner with all members of our Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You will play a lead role in developing strategies and narratives to further our leadership position in the publishing industry, grow confidence and engagement among our employees and the communities where we operate, and deepen our relationships with our customers.
As the leader for a small marketing team, you’ll be responsible for strategic prioritization and execution of all marketing and communications activities including the following:
- Manage a team of direct reports in the execution of our brand strategy including brand vision, guidelines and value proposition
- Foster brand trust, manage the brand’s reputation, and develop marketing/advertising strategies
- Ensure the company’s voice and brand image are clear and consistent across external communication channels, including pitch decks for customers, sales tools and materials
- Own strategy, creative development, execution of brand campaigns and promotional collateral
- Partner with agencies to establish campaign framework, tone, voice, look and fee
- Lead strategic communication initiatives
- Coordinate high-level messaging for C-suite executives
- Act as media spokesperson for complex media inquiries and emergencies
- Monitor media and anticipate potential company communications or reputational risks
- Provide copywriting expertise on all external communications including press releases
- Provide copywriting and editing expertise to internal business partners
- Cultivate relationships with members of the media across our communities including trade media
- Support the marketing team and internal customers to develop and implement internal communication initiatives to increase employee awareness of company information and activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 15+ years experience in marketing or related field leading brand and/or communications
- 5+ years experience leading teams and partnering with C-suite
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- High capacity to multitask and handle tight deadlines daily
- Organized and attentive to details
- Ability to influence at senior levels internally and with external partners
- Agency experience desired
