Job description
The Town of Wayland Department of Public Worksseeks qualified candidates for a full-time 40 hr/week union Mechanic/Welder assigned to both the Transfer Station and Fleet Maintenance Division. Performs routine skilled mechanical/electrical maintenance and repairs on motor vehicles, heavy equipment and light equipment in accordance with predetermined schedules and programs; makes necessary repairs on Transfer Station equipment. Provide customer service interaction with patrons of Transfer Station. Successful candidates should have a HS diploma or graduate of technical school and 5 years of experience. Must have Class B commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement, 1A/2C/4G hoisting license, AND certification in welding and training in automotive & equipment repair. Class A commercial driver’s license preferred. Hourly Starting Range: $26.14/hr - $31.88/hr + benefits.
