  • Build materials and equipment lists to develop estimates for commercial and industrial building projects
  • Analyze the time, materials, and equipment required to complete each project
  • Evaluate new and existing subcontractors and equipment vendors, request quotes, and process their proposals
  • Communicate with the customers, vendors, & subcontractors to keep stakeholders informed throughout the estimating process
  • Provide the Estimating Manager with detailed cost estimates and bid documents
  • Participate in pre and post-bid meetings to present information and answer questions for the client
  • Work full-time hours, Monday thru Friday, with flexible work hours between 7 am and 5 pm

The McClure Company, located in Harrisburg, PA, is looking for an Estimator to review plans, specifications & drawings to determine the cost of projects. We are the largest fully integrated mechanical construction, engineering, maintenance, and energy service organization in Pennsylvania. Our teams design & implement smart and sustainable building systems. Our Ideal Mechanical Estimator:

  • Experienced: Some experience in Commercial, Industrial, or Residential Construction is a plus. On-the-job training is provided for qualified candidates. Sheet metal & piping experience is helpful. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Computer Skills: Experience using MS Office; able to learn Estimating Software Quickpen
  • Active: Able to climb a ladder, walk at least one mile on job sites, and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Team Player: Humble enough to admit mistakes. Drive to do a great job. Treats teammates with respect
  • Great Communicator: Must be able to communicate effectively & clearly with vendors, customers, sales reps, and coworkers in person, on the phone, and via email.
  • Analytical: Able to consider all aspects of the process – materials, labor time, & equipment needed to produce an accurate estimate.
  • Driven: A self-motivated individual who directs themselves in working efficiently.
  • Mechanically Inclined: Someone who understands the construction process and the steps involved in mechanical installations. Our ideal candidate could come from a background such as Construction Foreman, Estimator, Mechanical Designer, Engineer, or Project Manager.
