The Maine Bleeding Disorders Center (MBDC) is committed to providing the highest quality comprehensive healthcare services to patients with bleeding disorders, such as Hemophilia, and to their families.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Medical Assistant who enjoys a mixed role of providing both medical support and administrative support.

Schedule: 24 hours per week, (M- F 8am - 5pm, flexible), no holidays.

Responsible for performing a variety of duties in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.

• Education: Successful completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited vocational institution or community college.
• License/Certifications: Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment.
• Experience: Minimum one year's experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
• Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.
• Working knowledge of continuous process improvement.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
• Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
• Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations
• Analytical ability required to gather and interpret information necessary to resolve problems.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
