Long Island Plastic Surgical Group is looking for a Medical Accounts Receivable rock-star to join our Garden City, NY office.
The Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist will reside under our Billing and Collections department.
LOCATION: Garden City/Remote. HYBRID SCHEDULE
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • College Preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of medical insurance collections experience
  • Working knowledge of CPT & ICD10 Coding
  • Knowledge of in & out of network claim processing, guidelines and protocols
  • Experience in working all insurance denials
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment and also independently
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent Organizational and Communication Skills
  • Strong Computer Skills, Basic Math Skills and Proficient Analytical Skills

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

  • *Work TODO’s daily and follow-up as necessary until it is resolved
  • Review EOB’s for accurate contract/non contracted payments
  • Review and work all correspondence daily to arrive at appropriate claim resolutions
  • Prepare and send written appeals with appropriate documentation
  • Request medical records when needed to appeal
  • Update the patient account record to identify actions taken on the account (communicate clearly and concisely in writing).
  • Work AR aging daily and obtain full resolution
  • Meet with your physicians regularly to go over the AR
  • Complete refund request letters and attach appropriate documentation
  • Prepare write off requests accurately and attach appropriate documentation
  • Update patient demographics and insurance when necessary
  • Communicate with all insurance carriers regarding claims adjudication; avoiding websites
  • Other duties include special aging given to you by your Manager to work.
