Salary maximum: $72,072 based on experience

Unity House is dedicated to making life better for our communities and the Housing Support Services Department has a full-time Mental Health Counselor/Substance Abuse Specialist/ACT Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

Supervision of and working as part of a multi-disciplinary mobile treatment team

Assessment of client mental health and/ or substance abuse diagnosis

Knowledge/application of stage-wise treatment

Knowledge/application of motivational interviewing strategies

Knowledge of principles and practices of harm reduction

Provide mental health support

Training and education of team members

Ability to lead in a positive manner

Requirements:

Masters degree or higher in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field

NYS Limited Permit or License Mental Health Counselor required

One year of experience/training in specialty area and demonstration of specific skills or knowledge in substance abuse

Valid NYS driver License, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record as determined by company liability insurance required

Work independently and as a team

Basic computer knowledge
