Our Swarthmore, Delaware County program is seeking dedicated professional to fill the role of Mental Health Specialist/ Masters Level Clinician

Job Description/Essential Functions:

This member of the PACT/ ACT multidisciplinary team has responsibility to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assist in treatment, provide substance abuse services, education, support and consultation to families; and provide crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees.

In the delivery of treatment and support services, the Mental Health Specialist provides clinical supervision in
assessment and treatment planning, and provides support and back-up to the Team Leader.

  • To provide service coordination (case management for an assigned group of participants) including the

coordination and monitoring of the activities of the individual treatment team. Services include home-based
visitations and other services within the Philadelphia community. Approximately 75% of work is performed in the
community.

  • To provide individual supportive therapy (e.g., problem solving, role-playing, modeling and support), social skill

development, and assertiveness training to increase participants’ social and interpersonal activities in community
settings.

  • To provide services in compliance with contract and Agency regulations.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in the Social Sciences, Healthcare or a related field and 1-2 years of direct care experience in the MH field.
  • CADC Certification n(Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor)
  • Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of mental health systems and supports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
