Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of Mill Nurse

Reporting directly to the Safety & Health Manager, the Mill Nurse (APRN) provides hands on medical care, coordination, and technical expertise in employee health and safety at Phoenix Paper Wickliffe. This position will work closely with employees, the Safety Manager, and mill medical oversite to prevent injury or illness, diagnose, treat, and coordinate injury related work compensation claims.

Key responsibilities of the Mill Nurse position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Perform new hire screenings.

· Perform employee drug screens, audiograms, and cardiac stress assessments according to job functions.

· Administer vaccinations.

· Perform annual physicals and screenings as per job and OSHA protocols.

· Provide return to work evaluations.

· Create treatment plans for employees as needed.

· Diagnose and manage acute injuries.

· Work with safety team to develop new or enhanced health and safety policies.

· Conduct employee training on health and safety.

· Coordinate annual ERT physicals and fit testing.

· Respond to mill injuries/emergencies and provide first aid care.

Education and/or Experience

• APRN or NP credentials
• 2+ years of nursing experience in occupational health
• Familiarity with worker's compensation
• Current BLS and CPR certification
• Current CAOHC or the ability to gain certification within 6 months of employment
• Knowledge of NIOSH PFT process and fit testing for ERT members
• Knowledge of OSHA protocols
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written.)
• Clear ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines.
• Poise and calm leadership and guidance during critical safety events.
• Experience and knowledge in recognizing and mitigating hazards
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
