GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
This Network Analyst I position reports to the Network Manager and will be responsible for providing support to the City of Miramar’s internal network and voice infrastructure, under the supervision of a senior Analyst or Network Manager. Network Analysts are valuable team members who are establishing their careers in technology and will be learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative, fun, and dynamic environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Resolve tickets in a timely and professional manner and escalate issues if they cannot be resolved.
Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to manager for consideration and implementation.
Analyze, install, test, debug, tune, maintain, document and support the requirements, development and implementation of network wired, wireless and voice infrastructure.
Manage connecting patch cables in data closets and at workstations.
Manage and maintain documentation for network infrastructure and systems.
Provide basic support in configuring cell phone / tablet applications.
Using supplied tools to be able to view Wi-Fi / Network status and take appropriate action if an alert occurs.
Provide end-user technical support and technical direction as required.
Operate a variety of equipment such as personal computers, printers, copier, fax, telephone, etc.
Interact and communicate daily with the immediate supervisor, manager and City personnel.
Using applications and management portals to make changes after review of Senior Analyst or manager.
Manage and maintain documentation for network infrastructure and systems.
Interact with Vendors and coordinate with project tasks.
Perform system Moves Adds and Changes as needed.
Perform Cisco switch configurations and Operating System updates.
Perform basic IP Subnetting and network configurations.
Desktop / Softphone setup and configurations.
Aid in management of distributed television / information architecture.
Performs additional job-related duties as assigned and/or required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Networking or related field
Two (2) to four (4) years of work-related experience in a computer networking environment;
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential duties of the job.
Must possess a Network Plus (or equivalent) certification or at a minimum be able to obtain within 10 months from hire date
FDLE-CJIS Certification required for employment. Employee must attain CJIS Certification three (3) months from hire date.
Valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of clean driving record.
