OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The Network Administrator primarily supports the Bank’s Network infrastructure, taking ownership for the telecommunication platforms and a team member supporting the various network and security components. The incumbent will be a key player in a dynamic environment contributing to the implementation and maintenance of existing and new technology solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Network Administrator will own the configuration of VoIP/video systems and support of multiple security layers including internal/external security controls, with an emphasis on diagnosing system problems and implementing solutions with minimal disruption to the end users. The position performs all routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the network, to include voice and security devices and maintains accurate documentation of the network activities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provides software installation, configuration, updates and performance tuning of network, voice and infrastructure systems.

Perform routine system maintenance of voice, network and security systems maintenance.

Provide network infrastructure configuration, support and security services.

Administration and monitoring of security devices including firewalls, VPN, IPS and NAC solutions.

Administration of high level Access controls for user related requests.

Ability to interpret and maintain security logs in alignment with security events and various tools

Network management and performance monitoring to optimize utilization.

Identify system inefficiencies and resolve in a timely manner with minimal disruption to end users.

Monitoring, reporting and diagraming of infrastructure systems, including responding to and evaluating network alerts.

Maintain appropriate system and infrastructure documentation as needed.

Responsibility to resolve escalated network support tickets.

Member of the 24-hour on-call duty rotation, performing site visits as needed for efficient resolution.

DIMENSIONS

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Language, reasoning, and analytical skills normally acquired through completion of Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent professional work experience.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting a multi-vendor network operating system environment and managing medium to large networks on a day to day basis.

Ability to work independently, with minimum direction.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Working knowledge of data and voice communication.

Security minded with experience managing security controls.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Solid knowledge of current Windows domain environment and virtualization

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Configuration Manager, SQL Server, Cisco IOS, network route/switch and security fundamentals.

Knowledge of processes and procedures involved in diagnosing and resolving server/workstation issues in a client/server environment.

Knowledge of Ethernet, the OSI model, and structured cabling.
