Job Type: Full Time

Shift: Daily dispatch between 8pm-9pm, home every day
Location: Hauppauge

Weekly Salary CDL A: $1,700.00

Weekly Salary CDL B: $1,200.00

Description: The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations. Management of Driver Apprentice/Helper.

Required skills & Abilities:
1. Ability to influence employees.
2. Attention to detail in all aspects of training process.
3. Organizational skills and leadership skills
4. Bi-lingual a plus; Spanish
5. Computer skills, including Word, Excel
6. Ability to follow all safety protocols

Physical requirements:

• The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• The ability to see well at night and drive in the dark

Minimum Driver Helper Requirements:

• Must be 21 Years of age
• 1-year CDL Driving experience
• Must be able to work in incremental weather
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be comfortable working overnight and weekends
• Must be a team player

Accountabilities:
1. Drive vehicles to designated destinations for customer product deliveries
2. Drive safely and deliver products within deadlines
3. Load and unload products from trucks or trailers
4. Put product away based on customer specifications
5. Follow local and state driving laws and road regulations
6. Maintain the vehicle and equipment clean and safe
7. Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily paperwork
8. Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
9. Assures all tasks are preformed according to company policies and procedures
10. Maintains required paperwork, documentation
11. May be subject to various audits: Regulatory Federal, State, Third party, inspections
12. Follow set, scheduled route for daily deliveries
13. Read maps or set GPS to determine and track daily route
14. Organize product inventory in your vehicle and unload products in and out of truck as needed throughout the day
15. Make sure inventory being delivered matches manifest
16. Scan or write in confirmation of delivery upon arrival to the recipient client
17. Maintain and organize all delivery paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each shift
18. Refuel vehicle as needed
19. Follow Safe driving protocols
20. Perform pre and post trip inspection
21. Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while on route to supervisors
22. Follow all company and state-enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading products

All potential applicants- There will be road tested in a Food Authority truck prior to employment offer.
