Job Summary
Bronx Charter School for the Arts seeks an Operations Associate responsible for providing administrative and operational support at one of the school campuses. In addition to the daily operations responsibilities listed below, (s)he will serve as a thought partner to the campus principal and leadership team to support strong academic performance by optimizing operational efficiency.
Requirements:Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Implementing all necessary protocols and logistical procedures for daily school operations, such as arrival, transitions, dismissal, as well as school events and activities, including but not limited to after-school and special programs, field trips, and community meetings.
- Maintain a clear and consistent protocol to process supply requests, submit and receive orders, and inventory and distribute materials and supplies including NYSTL orders through the NYCDOE FAMIS system.
- Support student enrollment execution, including open houses, annual lottery, waitlist, orientation, and registration.
- Provide meal attendance coverage as needed.
- Ensure the health and safety of the entire school community by implementing fire drills and coordinating emergency responses.
- Maintain the integrity of student data through the management of the student information systems and platforms (e.g PowerSchool, ATS) to ensure it is up to date and accurate, as well as accessible for compliance and grant reporting purposes.
- Perform a host of administrative tasks to support smooth daily operations, including but not limited to handling parent inquiries, front office support, preparing and processing mail, monitoring and supporting the use of varied classroom equipment and technology.
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure procurement and accounts payable is in compliance with internal fiscal procedures and policies.
- Support the management of all school equipment and asset inventory.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the leadership team.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of professional experience, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in school operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook) and Google databases and platforms.
- Knowledge of front office and administrative procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Basic knowledge of technology (e.g., computers, chrome books, etc.) and the ability to provide basic IT Support to students and teachers.
- Solutions oriented and creative problem solver.

- Knowledge of the charter school movement.
This is a full-time salaried position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
