Operations Field Supervisor
Job description
For over 50 years American Alarm & Communications, Inc. has been dedicated to providing residential and commercial customers with reliable sales, service, installation and monitoring of integrated security and life safety systems. We are seeking an experienced professional to work in our Warwick, RI (Electronic Alarms, Inc.) location with the following experience and skills:
Summary of duties and responsibilities
Responsible for oversight of assigned installation and service technical staff. Provide superior technical support to installation and service staff and key accounts. Must be proficient at installation of all systems that are in place in our customer base. All installations and services must meet the highest quality standards set forth by American Alarm, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. Communicates effectively with technical staff and external customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct supervision of all technical staff.
- Provide field and phone support for all technicians.
- Manage day-to-day needs of installation and service staff including praise, motivation and discipline.
- Be an advocate for the installation and service staff by making sure they have the resources needed to carry out their daily tasks i.e. tools, training, helpers, etc.
- Responsible for monthly training program according to needs of the team.
- Review daily schedule. Assist technicians at jobs sites as necessary.
- Schedule new installs and work with service schedulers.
- Monitors quality of installation and service work performed at customer site to ensure the highest quality standard and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of all installation jobs and intervenes at job site as necessary. Provide accurate, detailed, and timely paperwork and reports to management.
- Responsible for administering installation and service technician’s performance reviews based on productivity, quality, attendance, job profit and technical advancements.
- Responsible for updating all manuals, safety practices, and technical information.
- Key accounts are to receive routine support visits.
- Build and maintain working relations with the sales staff responsible for new system sales to Key accounts.
- Assist in the ongoing training of new and existing installation technicians.
- Assist in formulating policy, procedures and guidelines that would further the growth, development, and professionalism of the installation and service department with a goal of superior customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle adhere to policy and maintain vehicle.
Additional Duties:
- Research and obtain information on position specific training opportunities.
- Responsible for handling on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis. May be required to cover on-call when necessary.
- Other duties as required or assigned by company management.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance and or/Massachusetts security clearance.
Equipment used to Perform Job:
Must be skilled using the following equipment: a ladder, company vehicle, hand tools, (I.E. screwdriver, drill, meters, telephone headset, soldering iron, pipe bender, hilti gun etc.) and telephone, lift, computer and adding machine.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Education:
Electronics degree or equivalent work experience in the electronics field is required. Previous supervisory experience would be helpful. This person must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people.
Travel:
Some out of town travel required.
License Required:
Rhode Island Burglar, Fire Alarm & Telecommunications Licenses or to be acquired with in 12 months. Massachusetts Electricians Journeyman “B” or System Technician “D” license desirable. Valid drivers license.
