An Operations Process Engineer at Inter-State Studio identifies opportunities for improvements in efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvements in manufacturing processes and implements improvements through engagement with process owners and innovative problem solving.

Accountabilities

• Identify and implement improved production processes
  • Evaluates current processes using knowledge-based management skills.
  • Develops process improvements that contribute to plant-wide key performance indicators.
  • Implements processes through cooperation with process owners and team members.
  • Controls improved processes by developing documentation, audit procedures and critical-to-quality measures.
• Evaluate and offer solutions to production challenges
  • Identifies potential sources of waste and uses value stream analysis to communicate the costs of poor quality.
  • Provides analysis of raw material and process steps that contribute to poor quality.
  • Acts as a liaison between product development and production teams to ensure new prod cate the costs of poor quality.

• Research and source equipment
  • Works with vendors and process experts to select and configure capital purchases to achieve production goals.
  • Identifies market trends and ensures best practices are being followed in equipment selection.
  • Prepares and accurately represents equipment value through lifecycle, providing cost benefit analyses for potential capital purchases.
• Develop productions standards and measurements
  • Identifies critical-to-quality metrics and develops methods for measurement.
  • Provides guidance to process owners for setting realistic goals.
  • Develops and implements tools for accurate measurement and reporting of process performance.
  • Monitor production standards and measurements.
  • Offer solutions to production challenges.
  • Prepare estimates and costing for fulfillment customers.
  • Coordinate and document equipment use.

Education

Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business or Printing.

Equivalent experience will be considered in place of a degree.

Experience

• 1 year experience in collecting, analyzing and communicating statistical data.
• 1 year experience in utilizing problem solving skills to identify and correct shortcomings in a production environment.
• Prior experience in the printing industry is preferred.
