McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Equipment Operator Helpers for an exciting Civil project in Denton, TX. In this role, you will assist experienced equipment operators by operating small pieces of equipment, spotting, and fire watch. The ideal applicant has 1+ years of proven experience as an equipment operator helper in large commercial construction projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in Crew Task Hazard Analysis (THA) meetings daily
• Assist crew on moving materials, clean, and maintain the job area clean of debris
• Complete fall arrest system training
• Complete spotter training—spot operators when needed
• Confined space training
• Operate walk behind roller compactor and plate compactor
• Safely operate small construction equipment (forklift and skid steer)
• Assist other trades when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience with self-perform concrete work in commercial, civil, or marine environments
• Must be able to use laser level
• Identify and use common construction materials, hand tools, and power/electrical tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, drill, Sawzall, skill-saw, vibrators, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)
• Understand construction terminology
• Proven commitment to Safety
• Work in an organized manner
• Able to work night shifts when needed
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
• Minimum age 18+
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
