Smyth Automotive is a privately held aftermarket auto parts company, owned and operated by the Smyth family since it was founded by George Smyth over 60 years ago. Smyth Automotive is growing and now operates locations in Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Northern and Central KY, Nashville, TN and Indianapolis, IN.
Smyth Automotive continues to grow and is looking for motivated, energetic and driven Outside Sales Representative to join our sales team at our Mt. Juliet, Tennessee location.
The Outside Salesperson is expected to interact with existing and potential customers to maintain favorable relationships and increase the company’s sales of products and services.
You will have the opportunity to showcase your ability to call on existing customers and new prospects for Smyth’s Mt. Juliet, Tennessee location. These customers may be Wholesale or otherwise. The store Outside Sales Representative is also responsible for assisting in promoting and advancing company marketing/sales programs as appropriate and requested. This position is also responsible for developing and creating new opportunities for sales through cold calls of new customers and accounts.
The Outside Salesperson should also be familiar with all sales processes and procedures; be knowledgeable of the auto parts industry; and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Call on customers per the schedule/strategy created with the Sales Manager or other members of the management team.
- Serve retail and wholesale customers to make Smyth Automotive the first call parts source.
- Present and maintain customer programs, credits, and core returns.
- Present pricing and product change updates, obtain catalogs, and distribute price sheets to customers.
- Prospect and develop new accounts.
- Resolve customer issues and/or problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of current sales and sales targets.
- Attend Sales Meetings and additional training seminars as required to maintain current trends.
- Must report to work in a continuous timely manner.
- Assists in special projects as requested.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of three to five years of related experience with contacting customers and have a thorough knowledge of the auto parts business and sales approaches.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Self-Motivated, Self-Starter.
- Keep current with new products and promotions.
- Seek and develop new customers for profitable growth.
- Valid, clean driver’s license.
- Proficient computer skills preferred.

Pay: $45,199.00 - $56,004.00 per year
