OVERVIEW: * Under the supervision of the Crisis Nursery Supervisor and the work direction of the Awake Lead Childcare Worker, the Awake Child Care Worker assists in the total child care and supervision functions of the Crisis Nursery. This position ensures the safety of the children by supervising them at all times; provides direct childcare services while being aware of the needs and well-being of all children; assists with household tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning, preparing meals and snacks, inventorying supplies, food, laundry, etc. for the children and constantly monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Crisis Nursery.

This is a part-time opportunity; Saturday and Sunday 11pm - 7am; MUST attend Wednesday Meeting 1pm - 3pm

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of twelve semester units or equivalent quarter units from an accredited college or university, with a passing grade, as determined by institution is preferred. These classes should have a focus on Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Child Health. Three semester units, or equivalent quarter units, including coursework in the care of infants is preferred.
Six months of work experience in a licensed group home, licensed infant care center, or comparable licensed group childcare program is preferred.

Driving is an essential function of this job. As such, employees in this position will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be used in the course of employment. A valid CA driver’s license and minimum insurance coverage is also required. Must be at least 21 years old.
