Title: Part-Time Student-Software/Automation & Autonomy-Remote - 84188
Onsite/Remote: Remote Position
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop embedded C++ software in John Deere’s Automation & Autonomy Group
- Perform basic software development utilizing C++, Python and/or testing and analysis work for a defined portion of a project
- Operate in an Agile software development team providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews
- Develop recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by technical leads before implementation
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university
- Graduation date of 2023 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
- Available to work 100% remote during the academic year with working onsite a plus
- Available to work 40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Available to work onsite in Urbandale, Iowa, or Ames, Iowa, during the summer if not attending school full-time during the summer semester
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with C++ embedded software development
- Experience with Computer Vision/Machine Learning (CVML)
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
