What You Will Do as a Payroll Analyst
Performs payroll activities including the preparation, processing, and balancing for multiple groups. Evaluates current processes and recommend and develop operating efficiency improvements. Monitors and ensures proper calculation and reporting of taxes and deductions. Troubleshoots and resolves issues on complex payroll issues and other related duties.
How You Will Make a Difference:
- Handle confidential information with integrity and the highest degree of confidentiality
- Process payroll according to internal policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Provides customer support to multiple locations including any off-cycle or replacement payments needed
- Works with payroll accounting to clear and reconcile items
- Serves as an internal and external resource on payroll system-related inquiries
- Participates in continuous improvement projects and initiatives; supports the development and maintenance of payroll process documentation
- Responsible for accurate and efficient internal and mandatory external reporting
- Initiate and monitor inquires; assign and escalate for appropriate resolution
- Participates in the review and preparation of data necessary for the filing of payroll-related tax returns and miscellaneous withholding forms
- Participates in the year-end process including year-end adjustments, year-end tax statements, and review of year-end tax filing information
- Supporting audits by working with other departments as needed, communicating remediation issues and documenting and overseeing resolution plans
- Responding to inquiries from government agencies
Skills for Success
- At least 5 years of payroll experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or significant relevant work experience
- Must have intermediate Excel skills such as v-lookup/formulas/filtering/pivot tables, to facilitate payroll review and research
- Experience with analyzing payroll results to answer complex questions within a high-volume HR organization is preferred
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
