Position Summary: The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the preparation and dispensing of pet medication and acting as a resource for the provision of medication information for customers, and pharmacy technicians. Identifies, resolves, and prevents medication related problems through interaction with veterinarians, customers, and pharmacy technicians. Supervises and provides direction for pharmacy technicians to ensure the accurate and timely medication availability and quality customer interactions.

Reports To: Pharmacy Verification Manager

Essential Functions:

• Verify prescriptions for safe dosing, interactions, and duplications.
• Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice
• Provide leadership, oversight, quality assurance, and training to pharmacy technicians.
• Interpret prescriptions and contact veterinarians and/or customers to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription signature and drug name to expedite processing of orders.
• Ability to speak clearly, hear, and write in English
• Ability to sit for lengthy periods of time
• Ability to do simple math.
• Must have close and distance vision and an ability to read a computer screen and printing material with or without vision aids.

FOLLOWING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintains active pharmacy license requirements

· Must reside in and be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Nevada.

· Bonus if licensed in:

Arizona

Idaho

Oregon
