Frontline MFG is seeking a Plant Manager to join our team to support our growing fiberglass business. In the Plant Manager role, you will focus on the day-to-day manufacturing operations for the growing facility, guided by the Business Unit Director. You will have the responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, and safety objectives through both individual and team contributions. Through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement projects and initiatives you will develop and support your direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews production schedule and adjusts for efficiency and meeting of customer due dates.
- Monitors daily productivity and ensures sufficient labor and materials to meet schedule. Involved in proactive and reactive resource allocation and barrier removal to best meet customer needs.
- Maintains communication and coaching to employees on a daily basis to ensure they have the information to do their jobs and that they understand and adhere to the goals and direction of the company.
- Trains direct reports on operating procedures, quality standards, environmental, health and safety procedures and company policies. Ensures compliance and sustainment of training to ensure a smooth operation.
- Provides performance and daily corrective feedback to employees as needed. Writes direct reports performance reviews. Recommends raises, next level of discipline, and terminations to the General Manager.
- Collaborates with technical departments to understand customer requirements and makes suggestions for improvement. Works with others to find continuous improvement opportunities and finds ways to implement improvements; effective use of quality improvement tools.
- Leads team reporting and assessment of production information including manufacturing data, customer feedback, and employee suggestions for continuous improvement of processes and products.
Requirements:
- 4+ years’ leading a team in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify and address problems and meet deadlines.
- Strong desire to train and coach others to improve performance.
- Strong accountability and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
- Computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft programs. Must be able to use computer programs to keep track of administrative tasks such as report writing, production schedules, analysis of work orders, evaluations of product estimates and outputs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk with groups of employees as well as strong one-on-one communication skills to facilitate employee engagement.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement.
