Job Title: Podcast manager
Job Summary: Sanford Federal, Inc. is seeking to produce regular, 45-60 minute podcasts on topics of interest to the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and Air University’s (AU’s) professional military education (PME) institutions.)
Duties:
- The candidate will do a first pass of a 90-minute recording, most likely recorded from online Microsoft Teams call/interview for speech tics and repetitions, in preparation for the recording being sent to transcription. The transcription will be reviewed by the authors and changes submitted.
- The candidate will then produce a cut from changes noted on the transcript by the host and guests. Given experiments and guidance from podcast handbooks, we estimate 4-6 hours of work per episode per week. The total hours worked per week/contract year are flexible up to the total contract award amount and may increase depending on podcast demand.
- The candidate will work with Academic Services to ensure that the finished podcast can be archived in the DAF media system. The candidate should work with AUL to create metadata elements to accompany the finished podcast.
Qualifications:
- The qualified shall be experienced in using sound editing software like Audacity and providing timely, competent production of high-quality podcasts from recordings. The individual will produce a final, polished series of podcasts that can be loaded onto various platforms. The qualified individual will have, at a minimum, an AA/AS and extended training and/or certificates in audio production, sound engineering, or a related field.
