Meister Cheese, a fourth-generation, natural cheesemaking company located in Muscoda, Wisconsin is seeking a Product Development & Culinary Technician. This person works as part of a team with sales and production to develop new cheese products along with overseeing sampling/evaluation and assisting with trial samples into full production runs. This position is a new position and we intend to allow the candidate help us create this role as it develops. This means it can be part time or full time and wage is negotiable based on the candidate. *THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Organize and perform food demonstrations and test panels

· Coordinate and execute product tasting for customers and media, including menu curation, recipe development and optimization

· Be responsible for monitoring and researching culinary trends, techniques and innovations

· May be required to travel as requested by the DSM

· Review product details with potential customers

· Review and get approval for product and all ingredients (working with Quality Dept)

· Work with Operations Team to coordinate sample production

· Facilitate sample evaluations including analytical test results and functionality testing

· Coordinate the shipment of samples to customers

· Working with cheese production staff on recipes, PLU selection

· Attend regular communication meetings as needed

· Drive timely and accurate order fulfillment

· Coordinate full production shipment of orders

· Monitor inventory

· Evaluate recipe performance, yield data, testing, and report on such

Qualifications

· Associate Degree or higher, preferred with an emphasis on Food Science, Culinary or related field

· 2 or 5 years of experience in a culinary role, or equivalent background

· Self-Motivation, flex and organized person with a positive attitude

· Possess natural ability to interact with a range of customers at company events

· Strong knowledge of proper food handling practices, food safety principles, and sanitation standards

· Ability to operate forklift, powers pallet jack and other necessary equipment

· Thorough understanding of inventory and ordering tools

· Attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
