Talascend is currently seeking entry-level, Production Associates for contract-to-direct job opportunities on 2nd Shift within our client’s food production facility in Elk Grove, Illinois

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our client is actively seeking entry-level production team members willing to learn the skills to successfully operate machines, mix ingredients and/or package product within their food manufacturing operations. In addition to safely operating mixing equipment, cleaning the equipment between batches and properly labeling products, this Production Associate may also learn how to troubleshoot their equipment, document processes and calculate ratios. Everyone is trained on the companies Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), safety and sanitation rules, expectations for good housekeeping in your work areas and the company rules of conduct.
This is an industrial environment, so it is usually loud and some areas are very hot, while others are refrigerated (required to be cold). Personal protective equipment is provided.

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates are not required to have a diploma, nor any prior manufacturing experience.

• This position requires working on your feet; frequent lifting, and walking/moving around equipment, forklifts and products. You must be able to bend and reach, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Candidates must have excellent vision, be alert and attentive to details.
• With three shifts, candidates that are flexible, willing to work off-shift or overtime are preferred.
• Computer skills to perform data entry, read reports, print labels, and utilize an RF Scanner.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Excellent communication skills are critical to building good relationships with colleagues; those who have a positive outlook and can-do attitude are ideal.
• High standards of performance; self-motivated and positive influence on others.
• Familiar with production processes is preferred; experienced in machine operation and inventory best practices are desired, but not required.

This role works 2nd shift (1-9:30 PM M-F) and is eligible for paid overtime and benefits. Offers are contingent on successfully passing a drug screen and background check.
