The Chappell Group, Inc. is a certified WBE/CDBE/SBE firm that covers the specialized fields of wetlands delineation, benthic surveys (seagrass, coral, and hard bottom), marina and wetland permitting, marina design, wetland and benthic mitigation, and monitoring; threatened and endangered species surveys and habitat management plans, ; tree surveys and appraisals, tree permitting; and all forms of environmental permitting and compliance for Federal, State, and local agencies. The Chappell Group, Inc. is currently seeking the following professionals:
Project Biologist
Responsibilities include conducting wetland delineations and benthic surveys, preparing and reviewing environmental resource permit applications, preparing permit plans, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and project coordination with clients. Salary is dependent on level of relevant experience and skills. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; 0-2 years of relevant experience; experience with preparing environmental permit applications, exhibits, and plans, preparing correspondence with agencies and clients, ability to delineate wetlands, identify seagrass,coral and wetland plant species, and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be capable of snorkeling/diving; capable of being outdoors in terrestrial and aquatic environments in South Florida during all seasons of the year, capable of being on a vessel in all types of weather conditions, and must be SCUBA certified, AAUS Scientific Diver preferred.
The following are also desired skills for this position: AutoCAD/GIS capabilities, Report writing, Report Review, Flora and Fauna Identification and working independently and in a team environment, willing to learn, and taking initiative with tasks assigned.
