Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (40 hours per week)
Schedule: 3 days in-office & 2 days remote starting at conclusion of training period.
SUMMARY: The Proposal Writer uses detail-focused writing skills to prepare quality responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP) for potential school district clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying Requests for Proposal (RFP) from school districts nationwide.
- Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.
- Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
- Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts.
- Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
- Obtains approvals by reviewing proposal with manager.
- Completes in quality ahead of deadline.
- Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, and coordination; implementing changes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
At minimum an RFP Writer shall hold a Bachelor’s degree with experience in technical writing.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Knowledge of English literacy skills in reading, writing and oral language.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
