Job Summary

The QA Architect is responsible for supporting the planning, design, maintenance, and execution of system testing on simple to complex solution implementations. This role works collaboratively with all Core BTS practices to execute and validate test cases based upon solution requirements.

Essential Duties

• Reviews user requirements documents to ensure that requirements are testable and to identify gaps
• Identifies, recommends, and documents quality assurance and test practices
• Develops test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports on multiple projects of varying sizes
• Plans the test schedule and monitors execution per the plans, and adjusts schedules as needed
• Executes testing on all test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve test issues collaboratively with team members
• Assumes accountability for QA related activities such as Test Planning, Resource Planning, Status reporting, Test Summary Report, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
• Manages test risks and issues, plans for mitigation and contingency, and escalates appropriately
• Validates user expectations are achieved during the testing process
• Coordinates testing and prepares status/summary reports
• Coordinates the implementation validation activities with the deployment team, and ensures that QA is specifically called out in the deployment plan
• Communicates regularly with the Project Manager and any changes
• Identifies and communicates business risks relative to testing and implementation for evaluation by project teams and management

Required Skills

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other related business related discipline Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5 or more years of equivalent work experience required, both creating test process and execution
• Experience leading test plans and test scripts over multiple projects
• Experience design and execution of testing process
• Must have experience with managing test/development data
• Must have experience with defect, risk, and statistical analysis
• Able to document, analyze, track defects and communicate testing results
• Familiarity with all aspects of Quality Assurance testing, Quality Control and testing software
• Demonstrated proficiency in the quality and quantity of test case procedures, test scripts, identified defects, and defect reports
• Preferred Tool experience in Azure DevOps
• Strong coordination, process execution and implementation experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and structured personality
• Requires strong deductive reasoning, extreme attention to detail, persistence, patience, and creativity
• Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
• Ability to assess perceived quality, business impact and associated functional and technical risk
