Quality Specialist - Inspector

Our Quality Inspector will act as the point of contact for total support of quality issues related to manufactured products from planning to final delivery of material/parts/services. The selected individual will also be responsible for reporting the status of Quality to management and employees.
Here's What You'll Do:
- Act as a liason between Operations and Engineering to achieve desired goals.
- Assist in the management and disposition of nonconforming product/materials.
- Develop sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
- Inspect products using gauges, coordinate measuring machine, scales, oscilloscope and vision.
- Generate spreadsheets for data collection.
- Record all data necessary to produce expected service and/or design results, including sizings and illustrations.
- Review documentation associated with received items.
- Test incoming raw materials.
- Perform full part inspection.
- Assist in the creation of First Article Inspection paperwork.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable work items for Quality and Manufacturing.
- Serve as a member of the site Material Review Board.
- Participate/lead Six Sigma and Lean projects.
- Appreciate and demonstrate FLANDERS Core Values and Principles, Vision, and Corporate Mission.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Here's What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent, along with five (5) years of related experience. Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
- ASQ Certification preferred
- Possess a basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret prints, as well as measuring devices and techniques appropriately
- Ability to analyze quality data and recommend improvements
- Possess a total understanding of Control of Nonconforming Product processes
- Ability to understand materials and applications as required
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklift trucks and other necessary equipment
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of problem solving tools and techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational and safety procedures
