SUMMARY: The position is responsible for the support and implementation of inquiry-based programs for the out-of-school program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, although other tasks and duties may be assigned.

  • Provide programming support and assist with supervision of program participants on a daily basis
  • Participate in planning with other staff to include activities within the framework of the assigned curriculum
  • Work cooperatively with Site Manager and Site Supervisor to implement schedule and plan daily for effective lessons
  • Plan and provide a copy of written daily lesson plans to the Site Manager or Site Supervisor
  • Execute daily lesson plans and assist students during Homework Time
  • Assist with student discipline issues that may arise in programming and be thoroughly familiar with the discipline policy
  • Serve and conduct accurate food counts in accordance with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
  • Maintain professionalism within the school, being cautious of appearance, attitude, and school employee relationships
  • Support and assist Site Manager and Site Supervisor to implement program goals and objectives as established in the grant
  • Serve as support to the Site Manager and Site Supervisor in promoting each child’s healthy growth and success
  • Be available for field trips that might occur outside of regular programming hours.
  • Assist with security and crisis prevention plans as needed
  • Attend school, staff, or community meetings as requested, some of which might occur outside of regular programming hours
  • Attend trainings and professional development as required by licensing
  • Travel to TrueNorth or other various sites as requested.
  • Regular, punctual and consistent attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

SCHEDULE: This position is concurrent with programming hours that vary from site to site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and initiative
  • Experience working with children and/or after-school programs.
  • Ability to implement quality, age appropriate programs
  • Ability to be trained on the CACFP program.
  • Ability to comply with licensing regulations (DHHS registry clearance, TB test, Medical Clearance, etc.)

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma, experience in child development, education or teaching. Associates Degree preferred.
