JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all parts material handling in assembly and related operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs daily and other required checks on powered fork trucks, etc., documents results, and follows through with maintenance reporting
• Complies with all company, OSHA and other appropriate regulations.
• Is concerned primarily with the safe operations of the powered industrial truck and ensures that pedestrians have the right of way.
• Keeps track and maintains records on incoming and outgoing parts, coils, etc. as assigned by supervisor.
• Inputs information into computer when required.
• Supplies parts and other material proactively to the production and shipping areas as needed in a safe manner.
• Directs movement of materials to appropriate areas: shipping platform, receiving, storage, etc.
• Performs other duties and assignments as deemed necessary or appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-5 years’ experience driving a Reach Truck or Powered Industrial Truck preferred.
• Experience with overhead cranes preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Prefer previous certification as a Reach Truck driver in a manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.
• Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand.
• The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
