This position will be 31.5 hrs/wk, school year schedule and will serve Kalama Elementary. The hours are 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. General Responsibilities:Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of behavior intervention plans developed by the IEP team, collecting data and conducting assessments.Salary:The full hourly range for this position is $23.97 - $28.77. Offers are made at the entry level of the range. Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:
  • Perform tasks assigned by the BCBA/BCaBA
  • Assist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan implementation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; and communication with parents and staff.
  • Collect data and report student progress.
  • Maintain accurate data collection records.
  • Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
  • Implement, assess, and evaluate implementation of student intervention plans and programs; provide input and feedback to teachers, parents, other appropriate team members and the Assistant Director.
  • Implement positive behavior intervention systems.
  • Manage crisis intervention by maintaining a safe, classroom environment for the students.
  • Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
Other Functions:
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attend various training sessions needed in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of behavioral intervention and other related meetings.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Certified Behavior Technician credential.
  • Two years of experience working with students with behavior or mental health issues.
  • Working knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training and/or experience in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques.
  • Training and/or experience in implementation of positive behavior supports.
  • Training and/or experience in Collaborative Problem Solving.
  • Training in functional behavior analysis.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
  • Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene needs, including but not limited to: tube feeding, catheterization, changing diapers, toileting.
  • Sit, stand, stoop to attend to student's needs and to provide instruction.
  • Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.
  • Students may use challenging or offensive verbalizations toward staff and other students with potential to escalation to physical aggression.
Employment Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
