An exciting opportunity is now available for an Operating Room Registered Nurse! This exceptionally talented registered nurse will work at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, located in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is a brand new, 132-bed, five-story acute care hospital that gives residents of Lancaster and York counties enhanced access to Penn State Health’s expertise and specialty services without having to drive to Hershey.

About the Department:

Surgical Services at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center serves a diverse population of critically ill adult patients by performing ENT, GYN, podiatry, bariatric, colorectal, ortho, vascular, and general surgeries. (Everything except for neuro, open heart, and thoracic surgeries.)

· 7 ORs / 1 Hybrid room

· 32 PACU Bays (2 of these are negative pressure rooms)

· IR procedure room with 2 PACU beds

· Endo (9 pre/post bays)

· 2 Endoscopy suites

· 2 Radiology rooms

· 2 CT rooms

· Call requirements will be adjusted based on staffing levels. Candidates can expect one weeknight of call and one weekend every 6-8 weeks. 12 hr call after a 12 hr shift.

Summary of position:

Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Minimum qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required

Active RN Registered Nurse license in the state

Preferred qualifications:

Six months RN experience preferred

One year of recent OR experience is strongly preferred.
