GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Supervising Nurse, an employee of this class is responsible for providing direct nursing care to the program individuals.

We are a well-established and growing organization looking for a dedicated full-time and on-call registered nurses who want to have an impact on the everyday life of individuals we support to make a difference. Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment of health status, development of the plan of care, implementation of treatment plan and evaluation of patient status, evaluation of individuals for changing levels of care, and collaborating with the health care team to concentrate on preventive services and maintain a person-centered approach. Registered nurses will educate, certify and supervise AMAP (approved medication administration person) staff in the performance of nursing tasks and activities.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Carries out the treatment plan as prescribed.
  • Administers medications as prescribed.
  • Assists in medical follow-up and in any special medical screenings (i.e. glaucoma, etc.).
  • Participates in the certification of staff for AMAP in semi-annual recertification.
  • Requisitions and maintains medical equipment and supplies.
  • Conducts group sessions in such programs as weight control, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, and other related areas as may be appropriate.
  • Assess the ability of clients to self-medicate.
  • Assists in maintaining and updating related medical charts.
  • Provides oversight to AMAP-certified staff.
  • Utilizes Universal Precautions.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

SALARY: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
