Description

We specialize in physical therapy medical billing. You will use your skills in supporting our clients with end-to-end billing services. You will act as the account manager for your clients and partner with them in developing a medical billing and collections workflow to enable financial success. You will be responsible for billing services including charge entry, claims submission, denial management, accounts-receivable, payment posting, patient statements and payments, on-demand and monthly reporting. Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong relationship with the practice as their Account Manager and main contact person.
  • Ability to work remotely and be self-driven and motivated to excel in a remote work setting.
  • Maintain timely and accurate billing and follow-up on all accounts.
  • Optimize revenue by working aging reports, identify trends, and recognize areas of priority.
  • Cultivate and maintain a working rapport with insurance companies and patients to maximize reimbursement efforts and resolve issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a courteous and service-oriented working relationship with patients, insurance, customers, and co-workers.
  • Maintain control of claims billed and pending to ensure full accountability for all claims.
  • Track unbilled claims and provide updates to management.
  • Perform routine follow-up calls to insurance company to determine the status of claims that are not paid within 30 days or within the normal claim processing time frame for a payor.
  • Create secondary claims and or self-pay letters upon receipt of a primary insurance payment or denial.
  • Review deposit and payment batches for potential trends or resolve potential payment issues.
  • Post and reconcile collection accounts to ensure accounts are allocated appropriately.
  • Responsible for outstanding insurance/patient balances, denials, aging A/R, insurance follow up, and payment posting.
  • Monitors outstanding balance work queue through revenue cycle dashboard to resolve unpaid, no response, and denied claims.
  • Deliver best in class patient support, satisfaction, and improve the overall customer experience.

Education/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical billing skills including understanding of relevant codes, charge entry, denial management and accounts-receivable

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of physical therapy medical billing experience is a must.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in medical billing, and accounts receivable/collections.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with California insurance plans a plus!
  • Physical therapy billing software experience.

Skills

  • Knowledge of health insurance claim processing and third party reimbursement.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOB) from various insurance companies required.
  • Excellent communication skills to support clients.
  • Excellent communication skills in supporting patient phone calls and questions.
  • Ability to work as a member of a collaborative and supportive team.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to follow through.
  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
